About

I am a registered social worker with training in a number of therapeutic models. I have experience supporting children, young people, adults, and whānau through trauma, mental health challenges, and life transitions. My work is grounded in connection, compassion, and creating safe spaces where people feel heard and supported.

I have experience in areas including sexual violence support, psychoeducation, school-based work, parent support, and trauma-informed practice. Alongside counselling and social work, I incorporate approaches such as EMDR and interactive drawing therapy to support healing in ways that feel accessible and meaningful for each person.

I am passionate about making support approachable, relational, and inclusive - particularly for young people who may struggle to engage in more traditional services. My practice values authenticity, creativity, and strengthening connection to self, others, and community.

I am fully registered with NZ Social Workers Registration Board and I am a full member of the Aotearoa NZ Association of Social Workers (ANZASW). In addition, I hold full membership with the EMDR NZ association.

Interactive Drawing Therapy

Interactive Drawing Therapy is a creative and collaborative therapeutic approach that uses drawing as a way to explore thoughts, feelings, experiences, and relationships. It can help when words are difficult to find and provides a gentle, engaging way to process emotions, build insight, and strengthen communication. This approach can be especially helpful for children, young people, and adults who benefit from creative expression within therapy.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapeutic approach designed to help people process and heal from distressing or traumatic experiences. EMDR supports the brain to reprocess memories that may feel “stuck,” reducing the emotional intensity connected to them. It can be helpful for trauma, anxiety, grief, stress, and other overwhelming life experiences. EMDR is a structured, evidence-based therapy that focuses on helping people move toward healing, resilience, and a greater sense of safety.

Many caregivers find that understanding neurodiversity can transform the way they connect with and support their child. Through neurodiversity psychoeducation, I help parents and caregivers develop a deeper understanding of how their child's brain processes information, emotions, sensory experiences, and relationships.

Together, we explore your child's strengths, challenges, and individual needs, while developing practical strategies to support their wellbeing and success. This service aims to empower caregivers with knowledge, increase confidence, reduce stress, and foster positive, supportive relationships within the family.

Every child is unique, and understanding their differences is often the first step towards helping them thrive.

Neurodiversity Psychoeducation for Caregivers

Professional Supervision- Social Work

Professional supervision provides a reflective and supportive space for professionals to explore their work, wellbeing, decision-making, and professional development. Supervision can support practitioners to manage the emotional demands of their roles, strengthen ethical practice, build confidence, and maintain sustainable ways of working. Sessions are collaborative, strengths-based, and tailored to the individual needs of each professional.

Equine-Assisted Therapy

Equine-Assisted Therapy involves working alongside horses within a therapeutic setting to support emotional wellbeing, personal growth, and healing. Horses are highly intuitive animals and can help people develop self-awareness, confidence, emotional regulation, communication skills, and trust. Sessions may include groundwork and connection-based activities with horses, guided by a trained therapist in a safe and supportive environment. No riding experience is required. This will be offered from October 2026.

ACC Sensitive Claims

ACC Sensitive Claims counselling is available for individuals who have experienced sexual harm and are seeking support on their healing journey. Funded by ACC, counselling can help you process difficult experiences, build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and move towards recovery in a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental environment. Support is available regardless of when the harm occurred, and no GP referral is needed.
